5 Star Rating System

I’ve been experimenting with rating systems recently, in jQuery and whatnot, and I thought I’d share the results with you. You can easily expand upon what I’ve made here, to make a more complex system than the basic one I have made. It’s also pretty easy to implement into whatever system you have running. Enjoy!

jQuery is a very flexible javascript library, allowing you to fulfill any needs you have (in javascript). In this tutorial we’ll be making a nice tabbed interface, all for your amusement and use. Hopefully you’ll learn something new or something like that.

This is cool, will you be writing more on jQuery?

Of course! If you want to suggest a tutorial, either post it in the contact area or contact me via the contact form. Don’t worry, we won’t bite. I’ll try my best to try and get the tutorial wrote for you, or you could even submit yourself to write for us!

Anyway, hit the break to read the tutorial.

Making a start in jQuery and an image slider

jQuery is a javascript framework which simplifies the process of making complex effects and the like by creating easy to use functions. Unfortunately it can be hard to learn for someone who has no experience in javascript, so I decided to put together this little beginner’s tutorials in jQuery.

Why jQuery?

jQuery is one of the most popular javascript frameworks in the business, mainly because it is lightweight and easy to use. You can create complex functions and even applications through the use of it. It is also bundled with wordpress, and since wordpress is one of the most mainstream blogs in the industry, it gives jQuery a bit of exposure. Not only this, but since it’s bundled with wordpress, it is easily implemented into plugins for it.

Another reason to pick jQuery over its competitors is its cross browser compatibility — it’ll work in pretty much any browser.

It’s certainly one of the best choices when it comes to ajax and animated effects.
